Summary

The FIS Website Content Management system utilizes an integrated HTML editor called CKEditor. CKEditor is a WYSIWYG editor, which means that the text being edited on it looks as similar as possible to the results users have when publishing it. It brings to the web common editing features found on desktop editing applications like Microsoft Word and OpenOffice. In other words, if you know how to use Microsoft Word, you can update a website.

You will no longer have to rely on expensive and complicated HTML editors such as Dreamweaver or Front Page. The Integrated HTML editor comes standard on all FIS Website Content Management System packages.

Features

  • Integrated HTML Editor allows for standard formatting functionality including paragraph orientation, text decoration (such as bold, underline, highlighting and italics), and font colors
  • Ability to include images, links and flash animation directly within the standard toolbar.
  • Version History
  • Content Staging

Version History

Versioning is included in the editor, keeping a full record of any changes made to each individual html block instance. The records include information such as version number, date/time and user who implemented the change. A preview option gives you the ability to view previous versions of the page, along with the ability to roll back to previous published states.

Content Staging

Content Staging allows edits made using the HTML editor to be viewable only to administrative users before being made live to the production environment. The updates can then be viewed and published from the same administrative window, allowing for a full staging environment.
